AJOUR: “WASHED INTO THE CHAMBERS”
FASHION EDITORIAL
Inspired by the eclecticism of my post-Soviet childhood interiors, Art Nouveau, and the concept of Gesamtkunstwerk (“total work of art”), this project explores how complete harmony within the home can be achieved through merging the individual with their interior environment. Clothing, as one of the purest forms of identity and self-expression, becomes the connecting medium between the self and the domestic space.
The project investigates the relationship between clothing, the individual, and the interior, imagining how garments can extend beyond the body to inhabit and decorate everyday objects within the home. By blurring the boundaries between fashion and interior design, it reflects on women’s historical relationship with the home, clothing, and decoration, questioning the association between femininity, ornamentation, and domesticity.
